A teenage misfit named Hawthorn Creely inserts herself in the investigation of missing person Lizzie Lovett, who disappeared mysteriously while camping with her boyfriend. Hawthorn doesn't mean to interfere, but she has a pretty crazy theory about what happened to Lizzie. In order to prove it. she decides to immerse herself in Lizzie's life. That includes taking her job... and her boyfriend. It's a huge risk - but it's just what Hawthorn needs to find her own place in the world.

I really tried very hard to finish The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett, but I just couldn't do it. This book just frustrated and confused me, and I just didn't like it. And I had such high hopes for this one too.

The first thing that irritate me about The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett was the main character, Hawthorn. I just didn't warm to her at all. She really grated on my nerves to be quite frank. She was very immature and didn't act her age at all. I honestly found her really weird and creepy, especially the way she obsessed over a girl she doesn't even know and claims to not even like. I don't think I've ever felt so unsettled by a character before.

I also found the plot extremely weird and I just didn't understand the point of it at all. The whole paranormal aspect of the story just didn't feel right. To be honest, I just felt the plot dragged and didn't feel that much was happening at all. I found myself getting bored and trying to force myself through this one, which didn't make me feel any better either.

I found The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett such a disappointment and I don't think I could recommend this book to anyone. Though, going by Goodreads, I'm definitely in the minority.

Feature and Follow (29 May)

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of  Parajunkee’s View  and Alison of  Alison Can Read . Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs! I'm one of the featured blogs this week! Along with Amanda of  The Darling Bookworm . This week’s Question: How many books have you got on your TBR list? I recently had a bit of a cull of my TBR list so now it is sitting at 269. I'm trying my hardest to get it below 200 by the end of the year but I really don't see it happening. I'd currently be happy if I managed to get it below 225. However, I did recently have a look through my TBR on Goodreads and deleted a few books that I don't think I will actually ever read - I'm not even to sure how they got there anyway.
